About Jackie Littlejohn
I have enjoyed painting for as long as I can remember, encouraged as a child by my fathers beautiful pen and ink drawings and by a very enthusiastic Art Master at school who helped me obtain a place at Plymouth Art College where an endless supply of paint, paper and uninterrupted time for my passion seemed like heaven.
I paint seascapes from my home at Heybrook Bay in the house my late husband Alan and I built 45 years ago, from here looking out to sea inspires me all year round.
My paintings express my love of life, of the sea and our beautiful countryside. I am also inspired by my many years of sailing and beachcombing our lovely Devon coastline.
Many of my paintings are worked from ‘little magic moment’ sketches made sometimes on the back of scraps of paper and stuffed into my bag for future painting extravaganza sessions.
