After 23 years working for Barbican Gallery/Marlborough Frames I left and after a few short term jobs including working at ArtFrame Gallery for a year and six months travelling I decided to start a framing business of my own and Homeframe was it.
Now seven years on I have the Homeframe Unit on Union Street which as well as a framing workshop also includes a Gallery showing all the artists I frame for.
The most prolific of these would be Brian Pollard one of Plymouths most Iconic painters, who also has become a nationally acclaimed naive artist
I like to support all local artists whether they work in photography, printmaking, watercolour, oil or textile.
Artists on display include
- Xiao Bi Li.
- Jan Brewerton.
- Phil Helmsey.
- Marianne Stutridge.

With over 30 years framing under my belt I pride myself on being able to frame anything!
I enjoy the unusual as the simplest things can be made to look special. I have a wide variety of frames, natural woods, aluminium, box frames, swept frames, ovals and contemporary suiting everything from wedding dresses to posters. If i don’t have the colour you need I will hand paint one to suit.I frame Memorabilia, Medals, Cross stitches/Embroideries, Canvasses, Football Shirts, Photography Watercolours, Pastels and Prints All my mount board is conservation quality and I can offer standard, non reflective or tru vu glass. I give a high quality finish for a price that suits the pocket! As well as domestic framing I also frame commercially, with work undertaken by Evening Herald, The Royal Citadel, Derriford, RIBA Plymouth, and Cross Keys Estate Agents to name a few.
